Gill studied music at Sheffield University before taking a Teaching Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music.

She has directed the Marlborough Choral Society for five years before which she was the principal accompanist for the choir. Although her day job has been buying and product management for major retail companies, she has many years of experience accompanying and conducting amateur operatic and choral groups.

She has also played the violin with numerous orchestras and musical groups in the North West and is now playing with the Marlborough Concert Orchestra.
